Brat Au Gratin

3 c. potatoes, sliced & blanched
6 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. flour
1½ c. milk
1 c. shredded cheese
1 pkg. Bobak’s Stadium Bratwurst (sliced diagonal ½” pieces)
salt & pepper


Brown sausage.  Place potatoes in a shallow, broiler proof baking dish.  In saucepan over medium heat melt the butter; remove 3 tbsp. of butter into a cup, set aside.  To the remaining butter in saucepan add flour, blend well, stir in milk.  Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until sauce is thick and smooth.  Add browned sausage & cheese and continue stirring until cheese is melted.  Pour additional butter over potatoes in baking dish; mix gently.  Add sausage and cheese, and bake at 400ºF for 15 minutes to heat through, then broil until golden brown.
